My X1C can't recognize the AR code on the Krios. What should I do?

This is most likely a firmware issue, not a plate defect. The X1C's AR code recognition for Cool Plate-type codes was being actively improved throughout 2025. Here's what to do:

  1. Update your firmware to 01.11.02.00 or later. This version (released December 10, 2025) significantly improved Cool Plate recognition accuracy on the X1C and fixed a known detection bug from the previous 01.11.00.00 release.
  2. Clean the camera lens on the toolhead with a microfiber cloth — dust or filament debris can interfere with code reading.
  3. Make sure the plate is seated flat and properly aligned with the magnetic platform.
How do I clean the plate?

Clean with water if the surface gets dirty. Do not use organic solvents — especially acetone — as they will damage the coating.
